Have you ever gotten a spray tan?? Please answer!!?

I've gotten a spray tan once in my life and will never get it again. I am very fair and there were like options of how dark you wanted to be and they suggested I should get level 1 because I was so fair that anything darker would look ridiculous. So I got level one and still looked ridiculous! I was so orange and looked really fake. I smelt funny and after a few days it started to wear off in patches and I looked diseased! Not to mention, my favourite matching white bra and panties got ruined as well as a white tank top I wore one day! I did it in the machine, you may have a better experience with a person spraying you, but I really can't say. I've just learned to embrace my paleness, I used to admire the beach tanned look that so many people have, but I can't achieve it... so I just embrace my paleness and try to go for the sex pin up girl look (like Dita Von Teese) But everyone is different and a spray tan might look good on you. I'm not sure I would recommend going the day before in case it looks ridiculous on you. Then you're stuck being orange on your prom which would suck! I would try and go like maybe a week before and if you like it, go again the day before. If you don't like it you can use exfoliant to remove it all before the big day and just embrace your paleness!! Anyways good luck, I'm sure no matter what you'll look lovely!
